The Weight of Water - Sarah Crossan

This book is set out like a series of poems - so as a reader you can dip in and out of the book but you can also read it from front to back as a complete story. I absolutely LOVE it! I wanted to read it again and again to see whether jumping in and out of the text as pure poems would have the same effect as reading it from front to back. The story follows Kasienka and her mother who move to England to try and find her father - at home her mother's heart is breaking and at school Kasienka's friends are scarce, until she joins the swimming club and things start to change for the better. This is a very moving book that truly allows you to experience what it muct be like for individuals like Kasienka and her mother. Full of courage and love.
