I am completely and utterly haunted by this book. The fact that it is based in places on real accounts horrifies me. Incredibly moving and harrowing, well written and to be honest a book that you just can't let yourself stop reading, we need to remember this moment in history however uncomfortable. I felt that I had to get to the end of the story to find out the outcome of the characters journey...
